Lana Del Rey has teased more details of her short film Tropico, referring to it in a tweet as a ‘farewell project’, although it’s not quite clear what that means.

Some fans fear she is planning on saying goodbye for good and stepping away from her career, but others theorise she means simply to bid farewell to the Born To Die epoch of her career which she’s been pushing for around 18 months.

“Look forward to to seeing you for the farewell project,” the singer tweeted.

“I adore you and thank you for inspiring me. TROPICO.”

Del Rey has been tweeting different movie posters for Tropico since last month, and yesterday tweeted a new picture which showed her dressed and posing like the Virgin Mary.

There’s been no release date for the film officially announced, but the ‘Video Games’ singer has hinted at the locations of screenings, tweeting “I can’t wait to see you at our premier for Tropico at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery and in NYC.”

The 30-minute short film will include new music from the singer’s Paradise EP, including the tracks ‘Bel Air’, ‘Gods & Monsters’ and ‘Body Electric’.

At the end of last week Del Rey explained the recent flurry of leaks of her music, saying her hard drive had been remotely accessed sometime ago, and that the majority of tracks were old demos but some, like ‘Black Beauty’, were intended for her new album.
