Robbie Williams responds to Liam Gallagher - 'Beady Eye need choruses'

Singer says Liam is suffering without Noel's guidance

Robbie Williams apparently has no interest in letting his feud with Liam Gallagher cool off, hitting back at Gallagher’s most recent comments by saying Beady Eye songs would be better if they had proper choruses.

The most recent episode in the two performers’ spat saw Liam call Robbie a “fat fucking idiot” during a rant about Williams selling out three nights at the Etihad Stadium while Beady Eye played one night at the 1500-capacity Ritz.

In response Williams said: “The production [on BE] is really good. There are a couple of tunes that would have been fucking amazing if they had a chorus. ‘Flick Of The Finger’, nearly a great tune. ‘Start Anew’, if that had a chorus, but there is no chorus.”

The former Take That star went on to say that Liam’s music was suffering without the input of his older brother Noel, who’d tell Liam where he was going wrong.

“They are missing The General. I’ve heard ‘Second Bite Of The Apple’, I don’t know why nobody said anything,” NME quotes Robbie as saying.

“When you listen to them [the tracks on BE] you think, ‘Please put a chorus in - it will be brilliant’. They are not going to have a character brave enough to tell Liam that.”

Williams also echoed the views of many, saying Liam was more entertaining for the controversial comments that put him in the press than his music at the moment.

“The interviews are better than the records at the minute. I really enjoy the interviews. Liam is like an episode of Star Stories.”

Beady Eye wrapped up their tour last night in Glasgow

The rivalry between Robbie and the Gallagher’s goes back to the 90s, when Noel referred to him as the ‘fat dancer from Take That’. In 2009 Robbie famously offered to fight Liam in a televised boxing match for £100,000.

In his most recent rant Liam slated the Robbie and the public because Robbie had sold out three nights at the 60,000 capacity Etihad Stadium while Beady Eye played one night at Manchester’s Ritz.

“We should be playing the Etihad thre nights, not some fucking fat fucking idiot. It could be any fucking clown.

“I think it’s a shame he’s doing three nights and a band like us are doing one night in the Ritz. Poor, mate.”

Robbie is currently on his Take The Crown stadium tour, which finishes at Wembly Stadium for four nights at the end of June.
