Former X Factor contestant Ella Henderson has debuted her new solo track, 'Waiting'. Listen below.

The track is a demo and while it's not known whether the song will feature on her upcoming debut album, it's still the first new material from the singer since she came in sixth on the reality show.

In the description of the track, Ella said, "I wrote this ballad during my first session back in the studios with the TMS boys! x Kinda relates back to my experiences of the past year. hope u enjoy Ella x"

She added, "Ps. Excuse the cough ;)"

X Factor winner James Arthur showed his support for the track, posting a link to it on his Twitter account with the message, "My girl @Ella_Henderson," and adding the hashtag "#LOVE".

Ella is currently working on her debut album, as she was signed to Simon Cowell's label SyCo after being eliminated from The X Factor last year.

Speaking about choosing a label to sign to, Ella told the Evening Standard, "It was like having the choice of many different five-star hotels. It was a really nice decision to have to make. I finally decided on Syco and have definitely picked the right one."

She went on to speak about working with Simon Cowell, continuing, "He knows exactly what he's doing. He knows how much I love music.

"The most important thing I was looking for was to be involved creatively, and which label presents me with the best team to bring the best out of me. The fact that he is letting me be involved creatively is overwhelming."
