Some fans of 'Gangnam Style' resolutely insisted that Psy wasn't a one hit wonder right until the bitter end, but with follow-up 'Gentleman' plummeting in the US charts this week it seems they have been proved wrong.
'Gangnam Style' achieved unprecedented levels of success across the internet in 2012, but like some many momentary musical successes it was down to a quirk of the track rather than any consistent musical talent.
Sometimes it's the result of a TV talent search that gives a musician their 15 minutes of fame, others owe their success to an advert that people simply can't excape.
But Psy's certainly not the only one hit wonder of recent years.
Gigwise takes a look at some other stars who enjoyed momentary success at the top of the charts and then promptly fades from public without a trace.
