From Kitty Pryde to Jean Grae: hip-hop stars with comic book names

Which comic book fans took it one step further?

Teen rap star Kitty recently changed her name from Kitty Pryde to, well... just Kitty, saying she was tired of dealing with the abuse from hardcore comic books fans.

But Kitty isn't the only hip hop star to take a comic book inspired name, as comic book references have always been prevalent in the genre. The Wu-Tang Clan are known for dropping comic book references into their lyrics - and RZA even tried to become a real life superhero, studying kung fu and owning a bullet/blade-proof suit and briefcase.

Jay-Z is also a big fan of the genre, even naming his album Kingdom Come after a Superman graphic novel - and namedropping Superman, Clark Kent, Spider-Man and Batman in the lyrics. But which hip-hop stars took it even further, and named themselves after superheroes?

Find out here.
