Liam Gallagher has given himself a pretty serious ultimatum, saying that if the new Beady Eye record flops he'll quit music.

The singer formed the band after splitting from Oasis following yet an monumental falling out with his brother Noel, who has since formed his own band, The High Flying Birds.

Beady Eye's debut Different Gear, Still Speeding was released in 2011 and struggled to draw any critcal acclaim, selling just 700,000 copies.

With their second album BE, due for release in June, the band have switched up their style considerably and drafted in TV On The Radio's Dave Sitek to produce the new record.

But speaking to Q Liam said that if this album doesn't impress he won't bother giving it another shot.

"Well, if we're barking up the wrong tree with this record, I don't know if I can be arsed barking up it again.

The new Beady Eye album is make or break time for Liam

"I'll never be a plumber, I'll never be a fashion designer. Maybe I'd just sail off into the distance and enjoy my life, instead of worrying what some spotty little t**t from Hastings thinks about the record."

But he added more optimistically, "But the album's gonna come out, hopefully people'll like it, and business as usual will be resumed."
