The California desert is the place to be this weekend, with this year's Coachella festival kicking off three days of music, with some of the biggest and coolest bands on the planet performing.

The UK is represented by the likes of Blur, Stone Roses, Biffy Clyro, The xx, Alt-J and Foals, while US stars including the recently reunited Wu Tang Clan and Passion Pit will also perform. Iceland's musical exports Sigur Ros and Of Monsters & Men are also on the line-up, bringing their distinct sounds to the desert event.

Tickets for Coachella sold out in 15 minutes of going on sale, with many fans unhappy at technical problems while trying to buy tickets. Individuals hoping to buy tickets were met with those time old problems - site crashes and long wait times on the festival website. Fans complained online, claiming their attempted purchases were deleted from their shopping carts as they attempted to complete checkout.

If you're going to Coachella this weekend, or even if you are not, check out the biggest - and coolest - bands to see this weekend at the festival.
