Queen named band UK residents would most like to hang out with

Bowie and Stevie Wonder finish in top three

  • Tony Bastin: When Mercury was seeing Tony Bastin, he found out that Bastin had been seeing someone else. Despite the fact that Mercury was currently in the United States, he still had Bastin flown out without telling him why and allowing him to think it was just a normal visit. When Bastin arrived, Mercury met him in order to tell him that their relationship was over, then put him on the next plane back to London.

Rock giants Queen have topped a national survey to discover which music legends people of the UK would most like to spend time with.

Freddie and co scored the top spot with a huge chunk of the votes being followed David Bowie in second, Stevie Wonder in third, Fleetwood Mac in fourth and Oasis in fifth.

The poll was carried out prior to the launch of Virgin Media's new music channel Vintage TV (channel 343) which will show classic concert footage, 'rockumentaries' and a variety of news shows.

Head of content acquisition at Virgin Media said: "Queen still proves the show must go on as the UK continues to enjoy some of the best songs from the last century on Vintage TV."

3. Stevie Wonder
4. Fleetwood Mac
