Peace hit out at 'fake fans' taking credit for the band's success

Rising indie stars thank their true fans

  • Arcade Fire: Gigwise readers recently voted for Arcade Fire's forthcoming album as their most eagerly anticipated record of the year. 2011 saw the Montreal based band scoop a number of awards and soaked up critical praise after the release of The Suburbs and as they cemented their status as one of the best guitar bands on the scene. They are the type of band that will create a legacy and inspire thousands of indie kids to pick up a guitar. The ultimate guitar band to take on mainstream pop in 2013.

Rising indie stars Peace have hit out at individuals who refused to support the band at first, but who are now claiming to have supported the band from day one.

The indie newcomers, who release their debut album In Love next week, have also thanked those who followed and supported the band since their early days. However, the Twitter 'meltdown' was somewhat brief, and all over in less than ten minutes.

"So many people didn't give an F at day 1 & now that the reviews come rolling in give it the big one about helping us learn to walk," said the band on their official Twitter. "Here's to all the mateys who believed & actually helped us get this point. You know who you are Xxxxxxxx"

They also hit out at magazines for taking quotes out of context in order to keep the world entertained.

"If magazines didn't print quotes out of context then the whole world would be so fucking boring."

Peace had the world's most minor Twitter meltdown of all time

However, the band quickly followed their statements with further posts blaming a touch of dehydration for the angry tweets.

"Actually fuck it, @everyone love forever xxxx," Peace then stated. "Get a bit neggy if I haven't had a glass of luke walm tap water #essential"
