20 brilliant albums of 2013: albums we already love from this year

The Neighbourhood, Peace, C2C and more

  • A$AP Rocky - Long.Live.A$AP: Hip Hop fans spent most of 2012 waiting for A$AP Rocky to finally release his debut full-length (it was delayed twice). Often in such circumstances the dilly-dallying musician has doomed themselves to failure, building hype to a point way beyond what's actually achievable. But A$AP manage to produce a record that did, in fact, prove to be worth the wait. Featuring an all star cast that includes Kendrick Lamar, Santigold, Danny Brown and even Florence Welch, Long.Live.A$AP demonstrates why the rapper is being talked about in far loftier terms than his contemporaries. It's not just his music, it's the way he goes about his business.

OK, so the year is less than three months old, but 2013 has already treated us to some amazingly addictive albums and somebody needs to keep track of all the best albums for you, right? So far, we have been lucky to see some of the most hotly tipped artists come up with the goods in the record department and long may it continue.

Although it's only March, we've gathered a list of 20 of our favourite albums of the year and if these are anything to go by, 2013 looks set to be a truly memorable year across all music genres.

In a time where it seems people are no longer afraid to dip into different genres and open their minds to different varieties of alternative music, the list consists of indie, electro, hip-hop, folk and even a bit of pop depending on where you would place Bastille's No.1 album Bad Blood.

Take a look through our gallery to see if you agree with our favourite albums of 2013 - so far.
