UK followers of the Eurovision Song Contest appear less than impressed with the news that Bonnie Tyler will represent the country at this year's event  and have taken to Twitter to reveal they are 'holding out for a zero' at the Swedish event.

The 'Total Eclipse Of The Heart' star was today (7 March 2013) named as the artist who will represent the UK at this year's Eurovision with 'Believe In Me'. After hearing the track, it appears that fans of the show don't believe in Bonnie at all.

Comedy actor David Schneider expects Tyler to receive nil point at the Malmo event, tweeting: "Bonnie Tyler to represent the UK at Eurovision? May I be the first to use the phrase: Total Eclipse of the Votes."

Meanwhile Eurovision fan Pysco_jonny tweeted: "Soooo Bonnie Tyler has been chosen to represent England in the Eurovision song contest... I’m holding out for a zero..."

Frank Robinson echoed the sentiment, tweeting: "Why do we even bother anymore? #Holdingoutforazero."

Others criticised Tyler's vocal technique, with Lee Binding saying: "Bonnie Tyler for #Eurovision? Love her. She always seems about one chorus away from coughing up blood."

Tyler will be hoping to better last year's UK Eurovision performance, when veteran crooner Engelbert Humperdink placed second from last at last year's event in Azerbaijan.

Speaking of her Eurovision entry, Tyler says: "I am truly honoured and delighted to be able to represent my country at Eurovision, and especially with such a fabulous song. I promise to give this everything that I've got for the UK!"
