This week's biggest album is the debut release by London band Bastille, who finally took their word-of-mouth success to the mainstream when their current single 'Pompeii' hit No.2 in the UK singles chart. Sure, they missed the top spot, but when you're up against Justin Timberlake then second place is a fine alternative.

The band follow up their single success with the release of their debut album Bad Blood, and following on from both 'Pompeii' and previous Top 40 hit 'Flaws', the album is a collection of epic, theatrical pop. But does it live up to the hype? Find out below.

We've collected together all our best Bastille content, including our review of Bastille's album, the spectacular 2012 Gigwise session of album track 'These Streets', photos from their current tour and best of all - a link to download the Bad Blood album for an exceptionally reasonable £4.99. Check it all out below.

1. Bastille - Bad Blood album review
"What’s acutely refreshing about Bastille is that their brand of catchy, neo-synth pop is coming from somewhere real. The heartache and emotion Dan Smith sings of are all his own. While the One Directions and Taylor Swifts of the pop world are mere puppets to a corporate machine..."

Our Gigwise writer Catherine Elliot reviews the Bastille album - but while it's a far cry from One Direction, does it live up to the hype? Click here to read the full review.

2. Bastille album download

3. Bastille 'These Streets' Gigwise session
Before Bastille were jostling with international r&b superstars for the top spot in the UK charts, Gigwise were championing this brilliant London band. We caught up with Bastille at the beginning of 2012, and Dan Smith and the boys performed an exclusive version of their track 'These Streets' for us. Check out the performance below.
