Ed Sheeran is set to quit the UK to live in the US, saying that he hopes to be surrounded by cowboys while working on his second album.

The 'Small Bump' singer will relocate to the US countryside as he joins US star Taylor Swift on her American tour next month, saying he will find a property away from New York or LA to escape city-dwelling 'douche bags'.

"I'm moving to the States for a bit. I love New York but it's too similar to London. I still don't own a place in London, I own one in the country in England because I like having the escape," he tells The Sun newspaper.

"I wouldn't want to be in the city. LA is cool but you find a lot of douche bags there. I'd rather be surrounded by people in cowboy hats that spit tobacco."

He adds that the follow up to his hugely successful debut album, +, could be an epic release, saying he has 26 songs for the album - and is still writing more.

"I've got around 26 songs for the next record and I've got another nine months on the road to keep writing as well," he adds. "So the record's definitely on its way. I can tell you it will probably come out in February 2014 and I'm gonna be recording and writing it over the whole Taylor tour."

The UK's worst dressed man? Yes, according to GQ magazine

Sheeran's US career is taking off big time, with a scheduled performance at the 2013 Grammy Awards on 10 February, 2013. The singer will perform with Elton John, but more importantly - has promised to dress appropriately for the occasion, after he was voted the UK's worst dressed man by fashion magazine, GQ.

"I'm going to be wearing a very posh suit to the Grammys," he told The Sun in January. "And if I run into GQ I'm just going to stick it to them. I've got a proper tailored suit made for me. If I want to be smart, I can be smart, I just really don't care."
