Video: Bon Jovi promise LOUD Hyde Park gigs

Rockers also hope 'London authorities know the words' to their hits

  • Frank Ocean & Azealia Banks will say sorry and make it up to us: After cancelling a string of shows last year these two have tried the patience of even their most devoted British fans. We hope that this year will see the pair join forces for one big (possibly free?) apology to be held at the Olympic Park.

Bon Jovi claim there will be no repeat of the sound problems which marred the 2012 series of Hyde Parks, promising loud shows as they were announced to perform this summer.

The rockers were today named as the first band performing at the Barclaycard British Summer Time event, and will perform in Hyde Park on 5 July. Further performers are yet to be announced. At a press conference this morning (23 January, 2013) Bon Jovi confirmed that the band would be 'turning it up to 11' when they hit London.

The stage has been moved for 2013 and speakers angled away from residential areas, giving Bon Jovi the confidence to promise louder performances in 2013, said AEG Live and Event director Jim King.

"We'll make sure we play it as loud as 11!" frontman Jon Bon Jovi promises. "We'll turn it up and let them deal with that. Hopefully all the authorities know all the words and will sing along instead of carting me off to Hyde Park jail."

"We'll push it as hard and as far as we can."

The band are performing the first show in the Barclaycard British Summer Time event, which will see ten gigs take place between 28 June and 7 July, 2013. Gigs will take place in the central London park on 28, 29 and 30 June and 5, 6 and 7 July.

More shows taking place in Hyde Park are expected to be announced in the coming weeks, and this announcement comes just days after it was revealed that major Hyde Park shows, Wireless and Hard Rock Calling would be moving to the Olympic Stadium in the summer of 2013 after a troubled season in 2012.
