Glastonbury rumours: who might actually perform in 2013?

Rumours, hints and denials for Glasto 2013

  • The Smiths - Definitely not: There were strong rumours of a Smiths reunion tour - which developed into suggestions that the tour would include an appearance at this year's Glasto. The rumoured tour was supposed to happen last autumn, and didn't. Johnny Marr has said 'it's not happening' so anyone hoping to catch them at the festival is clutching at straws. If it rains, you'll have to find something other than Morrissey's face to cheer you up.

Glastonbury is one of the biggest live music institutions in the UK, regularly selling out long before anything resembling a lineup is even announced.

In fact, 2013's Glastonbury sold out in just over an hour and a half (1hr 40mins, to be exact), which is a record for the festival - without any bands being confirmed to perform.

While shelling out hundreds of pounds without knowing who you're going to see might make it painful to part with your cash, it does have the benefit of providing us with months of specualting over who might pop up at the festival.

With Glastonbury taking a break in 2012, this year's festival lineup will encapsulate two years of musical developments and as such rumours of who the headliners will be have been rife.

But to save you hours of pouring over Twitter and trawling through internet forums, Gigwise has compiled a list of the initial rumoured headliners and how likely they are to actually appear.

As ever. nothing's set in stone until the announcements actually come, but here's what we know so far...
