Pink Floyd founder Roger Waters claims he can never see a time when he will reunite with former bandmates David Gimour and Nick Mason - saying the band has been 'over' for nearly 30 years.

Waters is set to perform the band's iconic album Dark Side Of The Moon at Wembley Stadium in September of this year, but despite him still performing the band's music and his friendship with fellow member Nick Mason, the band are unlikely to perform together any time soon.

In an interview with The Sun newspaper, Waters says: "I can't. I'm having dinner with Nick tonight. He'd jump back in a heartbeat.

"But I left Pink Floyd for very good reasons and it was the right and proper thing to do. It was over in 1985 and it's still over."

Waters first perform Dark Side Of The Moon live in 2005, and since then, feels his solo career has blossomed.

"Suddenly I'm touring with a brand name, which is The Dark Side Of The Moon, and people began connecting it with me. 'Oh that's who Roger Waters is. We never knew that," he adds. "Being able to tour with my band instead of Pink Floyd was my breakthrough."

Waters will perform at Wembley Stadium on 14 September, 2013. He has previously spoken about how advances in technology mean he is more comfortable taking the show to larger venues, after he previously stated he would not perform the show in an outdoor setting.

He added: "I've had to rethink the whole thing about stadiums. This wide wall stadium show couldn't have been done 40 years ago.

"We couldn't have filled the space in a way that would have been emotionally, musically and theatrically satisfying. Technology has changed. Now we can."
