13 reasons to be excited about guitar bands in 2013

Bands (old and new) set for a big year ahead

  • Peace: Peace will begin the New Year in style with their release of new single 'Wraith'. Formed less than two years ago, Peace have already supported the likes of The Vaccines and Tame Impala. They describe their sound as 'dark melodic indie techno', but elements of Afro-pop make for an addictive listen. Four lads that really believe in the music they are making and a swagger that will ensure they have a huge year.

2012 was a good year for alternative guitar bands and it looks as though the indie revival is going to continue into 2013.

Bands like Peace and The 1975 have been bubbling under the indie surface for long enough and it's only a matter of time before such groups come to the forefront of the guitar band comeback. Guitar bands we already adore such as Foals and Biffy Clyro will also return this year to keep the revival going and keep our indie spirits alive. Plus, the promise that the new Beady Eye album may be the 'best thing Liam Gallagher has ever recorded' has us excited for the follow up to Different Gear, Still Speeding.

Check out our 13 reasons to be excited about guitar bands in 2013 - and let us know what has you excited for the coming year.
