Gigwise readers have voted Arcade Fire's upcoming fourth album as their most eagerly anticipated release of the coming year.

The band have been working with LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy on their new album, which they recently premiered music from during a show in Montreal under the name of Les Identiks. The album has no title yet, but the band have revealed that they have been working on the album full time in recent months.

"Now we're in the studio pretty much full-time just doing what we do. And we kind of shut the door. We haven't really gone out and done anything in over a year now," said drummer Jeremy Gara in an interview with Canadian radio station CKCU 93.1.

"We haven't done photos or interviews or anything. We're just working on music and growing beards and living at home a lot and going out to dinner together."

The new album follows the band's 2010 release, The Suburbs, which is their most successful release to date after reaching platinum status in the UK.

Arcade Fire top our poll ahead of MGMT's self titled third album, which placed second on the poll. The Black Keys, who are due to release their eighth album in 2013, place third and Vampire Weekend place fourth.

Daft Punk, who are due to release their fourth studio album this year, place fifth. Click here to view the poll in full.

Reality TV stars don't score so highly with Gigwise readers, with X Factor boyband One Direction voted the least popular new album set for release in 2013. The group have yet to announce their third album, but having released an album a year since their 2010 success on the TV talent show, a new record this year is all but guaranteed.

X Factor winner James Arthur places second second from bottom, while reunited Sugababes Mutya Keisha Siobhan are third from bottom. Hotly tipped r&b duo AlunaGeorge are fourth from bottom, while Solange is fifth least popular.
