Despite Britney Spears being the main reason for watching X Factor USA in 2012, the star's appearance on the show hasn't won over the American viewers - and she is now set to be axed from next year's show.
US reports claim that Spears has not work hard enough on the show to justify her huge pay packet for the show (estimated at $15million for the series), despite hopes that she would become a regular on the show.
"Britney will get the boot," says a stateside source to US Weekly. "Producers wanted her for the long haul, but it isn't working."
A second source discusses Spears' half-hearted response to the shows auditions adding: "They paid all that for her to say 'amazing' and offer half-claps,"
A third claims show boss Simon Cowell wanted 'crazy Britney' but was left with 'boring Britney' instead.

Britney shouldn't be too disappointed - as she was recently named the highest earning woman in music in 2012, with an estimated income of $54million.
Britney has this week been dogged with rumours that the brother of her ex-husband Kevin Federline had claimed that her son, Sean Preston, was his, not Federlines.
However, this has now been revealed as a hoax lawsuit filed by convicted criminal Jonathan Lee Riches.
