It has been confirmed that Shaking the Habitual, the long awaited fifth album from The Knife will be released in Spring 2013.

Yesterday Swedish electro pair The Knife released a mysterious video entitled 'We asked our friends and lovers to help us', which suggested the possibility of a new release - exciting news for fans as The Knife's last record 'Silent Shout' was released over half a decade ago in 2006.

It has now been confirmed that a new album entitled 'Shaking the Habitual' will be released in Spring 2013 through Mute label and will feature Shannon Funchess of synth-pop duo Light Asylum.

The Knife explained their absence with accompanying text to the teaser video which read "Music can be so meaningless. We had to find lust. We asked our friends and lovers to help us."

'Shaking the Habitual' will be the fifth studio album from the pair, whose enigmatic ways have seen them delay live performance until 2006, boycott award ceremonies and make public appearances disguised in bird beak masks.
