Nicole Scherzinger has had huge success on The X Factor UK, but is yet to decide on whether she will return in 2013, saying she wants to end her run 'on a high' and focus on her solo career.

The judge is poised for victory in this year's series, her first on the UK talent show, with two contestants in the final three. The former Pussycat Doll has mentored Jahmene Douglas and James Arthur during the series, with Jahmene the favourite to win the show over people's favourite, Christopher Maloney.

However, Scherzinger seems uncertain about a repeat of her 2012 success revealing that she now hopes to focus on her solo music career instead of TV talent shows.

"I'm really glad I did the show. I don’t know if I’ll come back next year. End on a high, right?" said Scherzinger, as reported by The Daily Mail. "This year has changed my life. As an artist, it’s put into perspective what I want, how to go about it."

The show has been marred by bad publicity and falling ratings during its 2012 run however, so she may be wise to jump ship sooner rather than later.

It had earlier been suggested that show boss Simon Cowell was favouring Scherzinger over fellow judges Tulisa, Gary Barlow and Louis Walsh, with tabloids suggesting he wanted her to take over as 'head judge' on the 2013 series.

It was also suggested that Cowell wanted to place Scherzinger alongside Cheryl Cole on a 'dream team' of X Factor judges to revive flagging viewing figures.
