Jared Leto is one of the rare individuals who has managed to score success with both his movie and music career - and his latest project is one of his most ambitious yet.
Leto is currently shooting new movie The Dallas Buyer's Club. Leto plays a HIV-positive cross dresser in the movie and stars alongside Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Garner.
The film is loosely based on the real-life story of Ron Woodroof (played by McConaughey), a womanising homophobe who contracts HIV. Leto spoke of his preparations for the role on Twitter this week, speaking of the full body wax he endured in preparation for the role.
"I just waxed my legs for this new role. Time to get into character. Pluck pluck pluck. Filming this week," Leto tweeted.
"Ladies, I feel your pain," he continued. "What I have learnt today: Beauty is pain."
