Roger Waters has announced he will again tour classic Pink Floyd album 'The Wall'.

The former Floyd bassist will play the album in its entirety with a full live band and on-stage visuals. Waters said: "I'm extremely glad to be playing The Wall in Europe again.

The 69-year-old began touring 'The Wall' in 2010, visiting arenas across Europe. But he has confirmed next year's dates are likely to comprise of stadium shows.

"It's going to be a lot of fun for all of us. I've reworked the show to play outdoors in large stadiums.

"It's really good. Even more moving, engaging, dramatic and thrilling than the arena shows."

Waters spoke about how advances in technology means he is more comfortable taking the show to larger venues, after he previously stated he would not perform the show in an outdoor setting.

He added: "I've had to rethink the whole thing about stadiums. This wide wall stadium show couldn't have been done 40 years ago.

"We couldn't have filled the space in a way that would have been emotionally, musically and theatrically satisfying. Technology has changed. Now we can."

The tour includes dates in European destinations including Germany, Italy, Austria, The Netherlands, and Ireland.

It has been confirmed there will be a webcast from the star's site at 12.30pm on Thursday, when it is widely believed that there will be an announcement of a UK leg of the tour.

Tickets for the tour go on sale on 16 November, but there will be a pre-sale via Roger Waters' website.

At a performance at London's O2 Arena last year, Waters was joined by ex-Pink Floyd bandmates David Gilmour and Nick Mason.

Pink Floyd's original 'The Wall' stage show was performed a total of a total of 29 times by the band during the album's tour.

The band then played it once more in Berlin in 1990- a show that was intended to celebrate the fall of the Berlin Wall eight months earlier.
