Swiss Lips are set for big things. Behind the indie-outfits and floppy fringes reside some of the coolest pop sounds currently made in the UK.

"It's pretty mad to turn on Radio 1 and hear your song being played every day," The Swiss Lips admit. "Then you ring your mum and you're like, 'get the radio on now!'"

Most recently, however, they're at The Union just off Brick Lane, taking part in a month-long residency which is being described as one long party. The Swiss Lips don't disagree with this assessment, although they do add that they spend at least some of the time being creative.

"First few days we just got absolutely wasted!" the band told us, adding, "Then we got a bit of time to be creative. And now, we're just about ready to start partying again." The band perform tonight at The Union with another hotly-tipped band for 2013, Seasfire.

The thinking behind the residency - apart from the fact they just "wanted to come and live in London for a bit" - is inspired by The Haçienda, a club that was a staple of the 'Madchester' scene in its heyday.

"We wanted to get the whole 'DIY' Haçienda vibe," they explained. "It's just something different, we want to create something amazing that people will always remember."

Swiss Lips release their new single 'Danz' in early 2013. But well ahead of that, the band have performed the track in an exclusive session for Gigwise. Check it out below.
