Lana Del Rey reveals her Scottish boyfriend inspired 'p*ssy cola' lyric

Lana Del Rey has explained the controversial new line from new song 'Cola', which she says was inspired by her Scottish boyfriend.

The singer recently released snippets of the songs from the upcoming Paradise Edition of album Born To Die - and 'Cola' caught a lot of attention for the first line of the song, "My p*ssy tastes like Pepsi cola / my eyes are wide like cherry pies."

Del Rey showcased a preview of the track among snippets of tracks from the re-released album, which is on shelves next week.

Speaking to Australian radio station Triple J, Lana said, "I have a Scottish boyfriend, and that's just what he says."

She was then asked if she'd had any worries about releasing the song, to which she responded, "I didn't but everyone around me did. They just thought it was really weird - nothing new here.

"For me that song was so cool. The guys got to play electric guitars... the chorus opens up and has tropical undertones. For me, the vibe of it is so good, I love it."

Maybe a new Pepsi advertising campaign could be in the works for Lana Del Rey.

Lana recently added five extra dates to her 2013 UK and Ireland tour. The new dates include additional shows in Birmingham, Glasgow, London, Manchester, and Dublin.

The May 2013 tour will begin on Sunday 12 May at Birmingham O2 Academy.

Including the newly added dates, the 26-year-old will then play another eight shows before concluding the tour at Dublin's Vicar Street on Monday 27 May.
