Lucy Spraggan has broken Twitter silence to thanks her 'incredible' fans for their support after she quit X Factor.
Rumours are circulating online as to the specifics behind the former busker's reason to leave the show, but an official statement from Spraggan cited her ongoing health problems as the reason behind her decision to quit.
"I am gutted not to be able to continue on this journey but I’m not well enough to perform," said Spraggan in a statement on Saturday (3 November, 2012)
"To accept another free pass having missed last weekend would not be fair on the others in the competition. There is no way that this setback will prevent me from fulfilling my ambition.
Spraggan has now thanked her 'incredible' fans for their support during the show in a post on her Twitter account.
"A massive thank you for all the support throughout the show, you've been incredible. I can't wait to perform again. #thankyou," Spraggan tweeted today (5 November, 2012).

Rumours are already circulating, suggesting Spraggan will return to perform on the X Factor final - and that former mentor Tulisa may work with the singer/songwriter on her solo material.
Tulisa said of Lucy's departure from the show: ”I’m so sorry to lose Lucy from the competition.. I now count her as a friend as she is an amazing girl.”
