Mumford and Sons have premiered the video for their new single 'Lover Of The Light' - directed by and starring actor Idris Elba. Watch the video below.

The Luther actor, who also features in the clip, posted a link to the video on his Twitter account yesterday (4 November), sharing it with fans.

He wrote: "I want to share this with you... I wrote & directed this video for @MumfordAndSons Very proud amazing song."

Fans already seem to be enjoying the video, with one YouTube user calling it "truly a piece of art," and another saying, "somehow it captures the feeling you get listening to their music."

The band have previously shrugged off comparisons to Coldplay, and stated that they find a lack of appeal in playing stadiums.

Speaking to GQ, Marcus Mumford was asked about being the 'next Coldplay' and said, "Oh, God. Is that appealing? Not really."

He explained, "No disrespect to Coldplay. But we want to do things pretty differently. It’s not about being as big as we can be. We don’t want to conquer anything."

Mumford finished by adding: "We just want to play good shows. We may change our minds but stadiums are something we never really want to do. Arenas are plenty big enough."
