Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger has hit out at Sum 81 frontman and the ex-husband of his fiance Avril Lavigne, Deryck Whibley, for dressing as the Canadian stars for Halloween.
The photo has been shared widely on Twitter, showing Whibley and girlfriend Ari Cooper dressed as Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger at a Halloween party at the weekend.
Now, the Nickelback frontman has hit out at Whibley, suggesting that he and Avril considered dressing as Sum 41 for the annual holiday - but that the band weren't famous enough to bother with.
"Hey Deryck loved the costumes! We were going to dress up as you guys this year but all the parties had celebrity themes haha!-ck", Kroeger tweeted via the official Nickelback Twitter account.

Kroeger had previously claimed that he was 'not interested' in other people's thoughts about his engagement to Lavigne, but seems this incident was enough to prompt a response from the soft-rock star.
Kroeger told People Magazine in September of this year: "I try not to take too much interest in the world's opinion of our relationship. I just know the both of us are very happy."
