The Joy Formidable frontwoman Ritzy Bryan has discussed the band's upcoming support slots with Westcountry superstars Muse, and the open doors to success for bands that exist outside the city music scenes.

The band begin their five-date support slot with Muse tomorrow night at Glasgow's SECC before two dates at London's O2, which are followed by Birmingham and Manchester arena gigs.

Ritzy spoke of her excitement at the five shows, which come alongside two smaller headline shows that the band are performing.

"It's great timing for us, we're very excited about coming back to the UK," says the North Wales band's frontwoman. "It's a big tour for us, it's the first arena tour we've done in Europe."

She adds that the band's performance will be the same with Muse as it will be at their own shows - except with more new material at their headline slots, which are at London's Kings College and Bangor's Hendre Hall over the next few weeks.

Ritzy also spoke of how success for bands such as Muse and The Joy Formidable was concrete proof that huge success was within reach for musicians working in places outside of major cities in the UK.

"I think that door is wide open. There's a lot of bands that have come from that. You need to tour and you need to visit everywhere. You just need to stick to your guns and have that long career," adds Ritzy. "It's about carving your own path over the course of time and definitely Muse have proven that over seven albums and sticking to their guns musically. We've had an interesting journey. It certainly wasn't overnight in just one city."
