One Direction star Zayn Malik has felt the wrath of his own devoted fanbase, as boyband fans turned on the singer after he showed support for controversial R&B star, Chris Brown.
Fans of the 19-year-old singer were quick to hit out at the singer's tweet, which simply stated his love for Chris Brown's current single, 'Don't Judge Me'. Malik has long been a supporter of Brown, who has caused division among many music fans after he beat up Rihanna in 2009.
Brown has been forgiven since by Rihanna herself and many others - including Malik himself, who tweeted: "Don’t judge me, big tune from Chris Brown love that song ATM! :)"
"No, definitely judging you," tweeted one fan, surprised at his support for the star, while others suggested he change his listening tastes.
"How about you abandon Chris Brown & listen to more Frank Ocean," tweeted another.
"Chris Brown makes me realize that no matter how much I mess up, I’ll be forgiven if i dye my hair blonde and get 100 tattoos," added another.
However, the Tweet has been retweeted nearly 40,000 times and 'favourited' almost 30,000 times - so it seems many 1D fans fully support Malik and his love for Chris Brown.

One Direction came under fire earlier this week when a member of Van Halen called the boyband 'd**kheads' after bumping into them in a hotel in Birmingham.
Bassist Wolfgang Van Halen apparently bumped into the boys in the hotel lobby and was insulted by them - although he didn't mention exactly what was said.
Van Halen wrote on Twitter: "Fun fact: Was just insulted by that sh**ty boy band #OneDirection in the lobby of our hotel this morning! Greetings Birmingham!"
He then added: "No joke. That ACTUALLY happened. That group of kids in #OneDirection were dickheads to @IIEROCKII @GWDrums and I."
Van Halen finished his rant with his own jab at the boyband's hairstyles, saying: "They must call themselves that because all of their hair points in #OneDirection."
