Billy Corgan is set for a domestic legal battle with his next door neighbour, actor Eric Dane, after a tree in Corgan's garden fell and nearly killed Dane's pregnant wife.
The Grey's Anatomy actor has filed a lawsuit against the outspoken Smashing Pumpkins rocker after an incident last year, when a tree fell onto his house, setting off sprinkler systems inside the house and severing power lines - causing a potentially fatal mix of water and live electricity.
In legal documents, Dane claims wife Rebecca Gayheart was left: “Surrounded by live high voltage wires, and without the benefit of any light whatsoever," after the tree fell. He also adds that he had warned Corgan that the trees were 'shaky and dangerous'.
Corgan, however, denies all allegations and has responded, calling them 'patently untrue'.
"I was horrified when I learned about the tree falling. … Thankfully, no one was injured," said the rocker, adding that he was disappointed at being sued by his neighbours, describing the couple as 'nice people'.
