DMX has revealed his anger at Drake and his plan to record a whole album with vocals left behind by late singer Aaliyah.

Drake never knew nor worked with Aaliyah but earlier this year revealed the song 'Enough Said', which features her vocals. He later revealed that he is working on a full album of material of similar music.

This angered many within the RnB and hip-hop community, especially when it emerged that long term Aaliyah collaborators Missy Elliot and Timbaland would have no role in the album.

Speaking about the course of events with AllHipHop, rapper DMX made his feelings clear. Sneering at Drake, he asks of him,: “You didn’t even know this woman; you were in middle school. What the fuck gives you the fucking right? Allow Aaliyah to live on and not include the people she always worked with, not include the recipe.”

Adding: “It’s wrong, honor her legacy, honor what she did. You don’t have no right to make it yours. If you’re going to allow it to live on, do it in a manner that honors what she did. Respectfully.”

DMX worked with Aaliyah on a track titled ‘Come Back in One Piece', taken from the Romeo Must Die soundtrack - a film both artists also appeared in.
