Led Zeppelin to preview DVD in cinemas worldwide next month

Film will be screened in 40 countries this October

Thursday 13th September 2012 by David Renshaw

Led Zeppelin will show their Live at the O2 Arena DVD in cinemas nationwide ahead of its release in November.

As reported on Gigwise, the band are expected to release their 2007 reunion gig for the first time later in the year, marking five years since the London show took place. To celebrate the release, fans will be able to go along to their local cinema and see the footage on the big screen.

According to the Press Assosciation, 'footage from the two-hour show is to be released as a movie, 'Celebration Day' and screened in 'around 1,500 screens in 40 countries when it is given a theatrical release on October 17'.

The film will subsequently be released on DVD on November 19th.

A source recently told The Sun: “Jimmy Page has been in the studio making sure everything is perfect. Adding: “The band want it to remain true to their exceptionally high standards. It’s coming out on November 22 as part of a simultaneous global release.”

You can see a short trailer for the DVD here:

Led Zep teased fans with the DVD via a cryptic image posted to their social networking pages this past weekend. The 'Five' message was soon decoded by fans, though some were dissappointed not to see the group announce more live dates.

The DVD theory was backed up by Peter Mensch, who manages Led Zep guitarist Jimmy Page posting a message on Twitter which read: "it's almost here. I've seen it and heard it. almost 5 years to the day."
