Reading Festival kicks off today with performances from The Cure, Paramore, You Me At Six, The Maccabees and many more.

Eighties legends The Cure are tonight's headliners at the Richfield Avenue site, with a planned two and a half hour set planned as the close the first day of what is arguably the biggest festival in the UK this year.

Also on the main stage today and tonight are Paramore, Bombay Bicycle Club, You Me At Six, Crystal Castles, Angels and Airwaves, Coheed and Cambria, Cancer Bats and Deaf Havana.

Headlining the NME / Radio One stage today are The Maccabees, who are joined on the line-up by Foster The People, The Courteeners, Graham Coxon, Passion Pit, The Blackout, The Hives, Spector, Friends, Hadouken! and Future Of The Left.

The Lock Up stage boasts performances from Social Distortion, Anti-Flag, Every Time I Die, Bouncing Souls and more, while Sleigh Bells, The Subways, Bastille, Alt-J and more perform on the Festival Republic stage.

Weather at Reading this weekend is set to be a mixture of sunshine and showers, and is set to boast a one-off performance by Green Day, who will perform their classic album Dookie in full.
