The Killers drummer Ronnie Vanucci has told the anecdote of how he accidentally ended up with his hand on Michelle Obama's butt.
Vanucci, who alongside his bandmates is about to release new album 'Battle Born', told NME about his accident involving the US' First Lady during a visit to the Obama residence in July.
"Playing The White House was great. But I ended up grabbing Michelle Obama's ass." he said. Adding: "She's a hugger! And she's unexpectedly tall, so, when we were all being introduced to them, she went in for the hug, and, because she's so tall, she ended up with her arms over me which meant, the way I had positioned myself, suddenly I was grabbing her ass!'
Speaking about the White House gig, which may be slightly different to the band's gig in London this September, Vanucci said: 'It was a lot of fun, we got an official letter on headed note paper and we didn't know if it was real - we read it and we were like, 'What the hell?', I heard Foo Fighters had played the July 4 show the year before so I rang Dave Grohl up and asked him what it was like. He was like, 'Dude, that's like the coolest barbeque ever, you've got to do it!'
The Killers will return to the UK this weekend, headlining V Festival in Stafford and Chelmsford. The group also perform an intimate warm up gig in Leeds before the big weekend too.
