Sir Elton John says he may retire when son Zachary starts school.

The legendary singer-songwriter has said that the birth of his son, now 2, was a major turning point in his life as he always thought he would be too selfish for children.

But now Sir Elton is considering giving up music in order to focus on Zachary when he goes to school, as he does not want to miss a part of his life.

Sir Elton said: “While I'm feeling good, I'm going to keep working. When Zachary goes to school, that's another different thing.

“I want to take him to school and I want to pick him up. I don't want to miss that part of his childhood.”

Sir Elton went on to add that he would love to have a second child and give Zachary a sibling.

He added: “When it's time, we probably will. I'm now the happiest I've ever been.”
