20 June, 2012: Ahead of his Sunday headline slot at this weekend's Isle Of Wight festival, Bruce Springsteen last night performed a spectacular show at Sunderland's Stadium of Light - and the night before, at Arena Montpellier, France.

The 62-year-old took to the stage with energy artists half his age would struggle to muster, and treated fans to classic hits as well as new tracks from his No.1 album, 'Wrecking Ball'.

"I know how deeply passionate the North East is about its music and how good a crowd that creates," said Toby Leighton-Pope of Live Nation ahead of Bruce's Sunderland show. "Combine that with Bruce Springsteen’s unique style, his incredible back catalogue and what has so far been a sensational tour and I think we’re in for one special night. I know Bruce and the band can’t wait."

As Bruce edges closer to his headline slot at Isle Of Wight festival, check out pictures of his France gig.
