The original line-up of the Happy Mondays have reformed for a series of shows this year, it has been reported.
The band featuring Shaun Ryder, his brother Paul, Gary Whelan, Bez and Rowetta Satchell will return for live shows this year, along with Mark Day and Paul Davis, reports The Quietus.
The group said in a statement: "The rumours are true... Happy Mondays, the seminal Manchester band who changed musical culture forever has reformed and will be available for select live gigs across 2012."
It was rumoured last year that the band would reform for a full tour, with a documentary also set to filmed about the band’s reunion.
However, a spokesman for the band refused to completely rule out the possibility of the band doing something together this year.
The Manchester band have reunited twice before but without original members Mark Day, Paul Davis, Rowetta Satchell and Paul Ryder.
