Gigwise reveals the albums dominating the charts this year...

Today the chart company released the official top selling albums of 2011, probably in the hope that the list doesn't drastically reshift in the lead up to Christmas.

Coming as no surprise Adele utterly tears the rankings to pieces with number one and number two placements from both '19' and '21'.

Perhaps a little surprising is Coldplay landing at number ten whilst Ed Sheeran makes a bloody good slog for the top spot.

It'll be interesting to see how the list might change over the next year and whether the same artists may feature again, if so what order do you think they'll come in?

  • 10. Coldplay – 'Mylo Xyloto' (467,000 copies sold)

  • 9. Ed Sheeran – '+' (477,000 copies sold)

  • 8. Cee Lo Green – 'The Lady Killer' (485,000 copies sold)

  • 7. Michael Buble – 'Christmas' (496,000 copies sold)

  • 6. Jessie J – 'Who You Are' (660,000 copies sold)
