The Stone Roses Reunite: Facts You Need To Know

After fifteen years, the iconic band return...

 

  • 1. The Stone Roses formed in  Manchester in 1983 with various line-ups that included vocalist Ian Brown and guitarist John Squire. Drummer Alan 'Reni' Wren joined in 1984 and bassist Gary 'Mani' Mounfield finally joined the group in 1987 (although he had played in a previous band The Waterfront with Squire and Brown).

October 18 2011 – The Stone Roses have confirmed that they will reunite for two special homecoming gigs in Manchester.

The band announced at a press conference in London this afternoon that all original members - Ian Brown, Mani, John Squire and Reni,  - will play two dates at Machester's Heaton Park, on June 29 and 30 2012.

15 years after The Stone Roses split fans will see the band perform such hits as I Wanna Be Adored', 'She Bangs the Drums', 'Waterfall' and 'Fools Gold'.

To celebrate The Stone Roses reunion Gigwise has put together a countdown of the 10 Facts You Need To now about the Manchester band.
