Coldplay have paid tribute to Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple who has died at the age of 56.
Jobs, who turned the company into the most powerful brand on the planet thanks to products like the iPod and iPhone, had been battling pancreatic cancer since 2004.
In a message on their website, Coldplay recalled their encounters with Jobs, describing him as a “lovely man”.
“We are so sad to hear about the passing of Steve Jobs,” they said.
“In all of our encounters with him he was such a lovely man, and always so humble about his incredible talents. Like all of the people he knew, and the millions of others he didn't, we will miss him. Love, Coldplay.”
Coldplay are not the only music act to pay tribute to Jobs.
Mick Jagger, Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor and Jared Leto of Thirty Seconds To Mars have all expressed their sadness at Jobs' death.
