The latest set of photographs taken from the Chicago set of Superman: Man of Steel reveal what General Zod will look like.

Boardwalk Empire's Michael Shannon steps into Terence Stamp's boots to play the Kryptonian villain, and the Man of Steel 2013 Facebook Page was there to record it.

Having used the small town of Plano, Illinois to double as Smallville, the cast and crew of Zack Snyder's reboot have now moved to continue filming the eagerly anticipated movie.

Henry Cavill takes on the role of Superman, the first non-American actor to do so.

Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane and Russell Crowe also star, with The Dark Knight Rises director Christopher Nolan taking on a producer's role.

The release of the film was put back to avoid going head-to-head with The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, meaning that fans will be able to see Superman: Man of Steel from June 14, 2013.
