To celebrate the 30th anniversary of MTV today (August 1), Gigwise has put together a collection of the best 30 videos for each year spanning over the last three decades.
From Blondie's video for 'Rapture' in 1981, through to Lady Gaga's various creative music videos today, our selection of music videos celebrates the various visuals that bands and artists create to compliment their music.
Those videos featured in the list include Michael Jackson's epic 'Thriller' and Britney Spears' 'One More Time', as well as videos from Green Day, Foo Fighters, Spice Girls, Beyonce, Will Smith, Coldplay, Gorillaz, MC Hammer and Rihanna.
There are also two appearances from Madonna, alongside music videos from Whitney Houston, Nirvana, The Strokes, Justin Timberlake and more.
