Pete Doherty Prison Sentence 'Devastates' Charlotte Gainsbourg

Charlotte Gainsbourg has been left devastated after Pete Doherty was sentenced to sixth months in prison for possessing cocaine, according to reports.

The French actress is understood to have grown close to the Babyshambles star since they began filming a movie together in Paris earlier this year.

According to the Daily Mail, Doherty had told friends that Gainsbourg had “fallen in love with me”.

The singer was also apparently considering a move to Paris to be closer to the actress before he was jailed at the end of last week.

Doherty and Gainsbourg appear in the movie La Confession D’un Enfant Du Siecle, which is based on Alfred de Musset’s 19th Century autobiographical novel.

Doherty's jail-term came in the middle of a UK tour.
