Soundgarden: 'Jesus Christ Pose' - Directed by Eric Zimmerman, the 1991 promo contained imagery deemed highly offensive by conservative Christians including burning crucifixes, a woman on the cross and a crucified skeleton. Explaining why they depicted a woman on the cross, Chris Cornell said: "It's challenging to people, because women basically have been persecuted since before recorded history, and it would almost make more sense than seeing a man on it." The band received some death threats over the song and video from hard-line religious nuts.
