May 14 2011 - The opening day of Radio 1’s Big Weekend gets under way in Carlisle with a headlining performance from Foo Fighters.
The US band played a rocking one-hour set, which includes tracks from recent album ‘Wasting Light’ as well as many of their greatest hits.
Day one of the free festival also saw a surprise set from Arctic Monkeys, who previewed new album 'Suck It And See', while Tinie Tempah, Ellie Goulding, Jessie J, Black Eyed Peas, Friendly Fires, Everything Everything and Wretch 32 also performed.
