Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Green Day are amongst the stars who have expressed their views over the death of Osama bin Laden on Twitter.
Bin laden, the al-Qaeda founder, was killed in Pakistan by US troops last earlier today (May 2).
His death has caused mixed reaction across the world.
Katy Perry expressed her thoughts over Twitter: “I believe in justice... but don't u think that an eye for an eye will make the whole world blind?”
Green Day frontman, Billie Joe Armstrong said: ‘’Do not turn the man into a martyr. This is a global victory.”
Lady Gaga added: "Just landed. Watching CNN, what a historical moment in the fight against hatred."
Frank Turner tweeted the American author, Mark Twain: "I've never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure."
Meanwhile, Green Day played a surprise gig as the curtain came down on the Broadway production of American Idiot last weekend.
