Jack and Meg White announced in a statement that they wanted to call time on to preserve the band’s legacy.
And what a legacy they’ve left? From their stunning self-titled debut right up until 2007’s ‘Icky Thump’, The White Stripes have created some of the most memorable songs of the century so far, including the indie smash hit 'Seven Nation Army'.
To celebrate, Gigwise has put together a series of photo highlights spanning the career of The White Stripes.
