The Prodigy’s ‘Smack My Bitch Up’ has been voted the most controversial song of all time in a new survey.
The track, released in 1997, came top of a poll conducted by the Performing Rights Society (PRS). It was famously criticised by feminist groups and banned by the BBC because of the graphic nature of the video.
Sex Pistols ‘God Save The Queen’, ‘Relax’ by Frankie Goes To Hollywood and Rage Against The Machine’s recently-rejuvenated hit ‘Killing In The Name’ also featured in the countdown.
