After seeing Joplin perform live in the 1960s, Stevie Nicks said in a recent interview: �In a blink of an eye she changed my life." The only question is how much more Joplin would have achieved had she not died of a heroin overdose at the age of 27.

- i think the gaga to madonna comparison is more about the media attention & hype and popularity they both got toward the beginning of their careers than it is about actual talent and creativity etc... and in THAT case, gaga comes closest to madonna as anybody has and DEFINITELY beats out brittany spears, remember that comparison?
